Tidelands Park sits directly beneath the east end of the soaring blue Coronado Bridge, on the bayfront facing downtown San Diego. The bayfront promenade is the single best free spot in the county to photograph the skyline framed by the bridge curving overhead — the angle you've seen on every San Diego postcard.
When to go for photos

Playground, picnic areas & fields
On the inland side, Tidelands has a large modern playground with climbing structures, swings, and shade sails — easily one of the best free family stops on the island. Picnic tables and BBQ grills line the lawn; bring the takeout from a Hotel del Coronado restaurant or grab tacos at the Ferry Landing on the way in.
The park also has two lit baseball/softball fields, open lawns for frisbee and kites, and clean public restrooms.
The Bayshore Bikeway connection
The 24-mile Bayshore Bikeway runs directly through Tidelands Park along the bayfront — the flat, separated, water-side section that makes Coronado one of the easiest places to ride in California. From the park you can:
- North: 1 mile (5 min) to the Coronado Ferry Landing and back across the bay.
- South: 9 miles along the Silver Strand to Imperial Beach — flat, ocean-and-bay views, the classic Coronado ride.
- Loop back to The Del: 2.5 miles via Glorietta Bay — about 15–20 minutes by bike.
